Preparing for an Appointment

One of the most frequently asked questions that we get is, "What should I bring to my appointment?" Simply: yourself. But let's go through what to expect and what could come in handy.

Of course, the first thought in anyone's mind is undergarments. I am a firm believer that you should wear what makes you comfortable. Everyone at your wedding knows what you look like already! If you do have areas where you have insecurities, you are always welcome to bring shapewear, spanx, or any other undergarments that you feel comfortable in. All of our wedding dresses have pads in the bust, so bras aren't necessary, but if you feel more comfortable with one, you're welcome to bring it!

The second thought is shoes. Honestly, wedding shoes aren't meant for dress shopping, they're more important in a dress fitting with alterations. I recommend buying your shoes after your dress because I believe the color of your dress, white or ivory or champagne, will play a role in deciding which shoes you wear.

I'll tell you a secret. The most important thing you can bring to your appointment is confidence. For some, this might mean getting their hair and makeup done beforehand to feel more confident and bridal. For others, it is the people you choose to bring with you. The entourage you bring with you sets the tone for your appointment. You may think it'll help to bring your outspoken, opinionated friend who will give you direct feedback, but in reality, it can be super overwhelming and can cause you to second guess your own opinion. Instead, bring the people who make the environment fun and comfortable.

Finding your wedding dress is a FUN experience!! Don't let the stress and noise bog you down. If you feel like you need to bring someone that you're worried about, talk to your stylist. We are EXPERTS at handling an entourage.

At the end of the day, my advice is this: bring the things and people that make you most comfortable, because YOU are the priority of this appointment!
